Each year, approximately 125,000 motorcycles journey to the streets of Daytona for Bike Week, one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the country that stretches an entire week in mid-March. During Daytona Bike Week, you can actually feel the rumble of hundreds of bikes as they roar down Main Street, and the excitement of the crowd is palpable.
Vendors of all kinds line the streets. Try a turkey leg or a gyro with your choice of lamb, beef or chicken and whatever fixings you desire. You can purchase t-shirts, motorcycle apparel, bike accessories, trinkets and more. Check out the latest bikes on the market, and then settle in somewhere to enjoy some of your favorite tunes. The music is great. There are southern rock bands, country, rock and heavy metal – including an Ozzy Osbourne tribute band. And the days …and nights are brimming with all sorts of entertainment. Take in a bike rally or try your own luck at one of the contests. The drinks flow fast and easy within historic landmarks. Visit the country’s oldest biker bar, or have a cold one at the legendary Boot Hill Saloon – where their motto is, “You’re better off here than across the street.” Heads up – there is a cemetery across the street!
