Daytona Beach is a popular vacation destination, known for miles and miles of pristine beaches and tons
of great things to do. Here’s just a for-instance…
Over 150 musical acts fill 18 stages and 30 artists line Main Street during the Daytona Palooza Music and
Art Festival in the fall. Then the Daytona Blue Festival is a three-day event that draws thousands. Each
year, approximately 125,000 motorcyclists ride to Daytona for live music, shows and rallies at
Biketoberfest. Bike Week, which is an even larger motorcycle event, stretches an entire week in March.
But that’s not all. Daytona Beach is home to the Tortugas, its minor league baseball team that makes a
hit all summer long. There is a Classic Car Cruise-in the first Saturday of every month. The iconic
Bandshell amphitheater features free jazz, blues, contemporary, folk, big band and Dixieland concerts.
And let’s not forget the infamous Daytona International Speedway, the site of the Daytona 500, the
Coke Zero 400, the Daytona 200, the Rolex 24-hour Marathon Race and so much more!
Festivals account for a lot of the fun here in Daytona too. There’s the Celtic Festival, Fiesta Italiana, the
Greek Festival and Festival of the Arts. Halifax Art Festival, the second oldest continual art festival in
Florida, featuring hundreds of artisans from across the country in early November is also a must-see.
The holidays are also a magical time. Later in November, on Thanksgiving weekend, Daytona Beach
hosts the largest classic car show and swap meet in the United States – the Turkey Run. For the entire
Christmas season, the Stetson Mansion decks the halls with gorgeous display. Then, ring in the New
Year with an extravagant New Year’s Eve Celebration on Main Street.
