There are definitely some holiday must-sees right in our area this year, from holiday shopping marketplaces, to spectacular seasonal light displays, to live Christmas performances and good old Santa himself…
If you like a good Christmas show, you’ve got the magic of the season on your side with Cirque Dreams Holidaze aerial arts performed to Broadway tunes at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach December 1st; Christmas Story performances scheduled from December 2nd through the 12th at The Little Theatre in New Smyrna Beach; and How the Grinch Stole Christmas expressed through dance on December 11th at the Dance Factory in Daytona Beach.
Light up the season with the holiday-themed Light Up Flagler street fair in New Smyrna Beach which comes complete with the Santa Paws Pet Parade and Christmas Cookie Challenge; the drive-through Magic of Lights excursion at Daytona International Speedway through January 1st; or an elaborate Christmas light and inflatable walk- or drive-through at Pine Creek Court in Ormond Beach through December 31st.
There is more merriment you won’t want to miss such as the decorated Christmas trees, holiday arrangements, a mistletoe market, raffles and home baked treats at the Festival of the Trees at the New Smyrna Beach Garden Club; the holiday-themed Winter Sky Festival winter celestial viewing and laser show at MOAS in Daytona Beach – both December 10th; and “ocean inspired slow flow” Christmas Eve Beach Yoga at 4201 Atlantic Avenue in New Smyrna Beach.
And when it comes to Santa, let’s just say he certainly gets around! You can have ice cream with Santa at the Frosty King in Edgewater December 11th, breakfast with the jolly big guy at The Currents in Ormond Beach on December 18th and if you are in the mood for a parade where you are destined to spot a glimpse of Santa, you can do it in your choice of Daytona Beach Shores or New Smyrna Beach on December 4th, Port Orange December 5th or Edgewater on December 11th!
