A prominent component of the “Fun Coast,” the little town of New Smyrna Beach packs a big wallop when it comes to fun. Surrounded by the majesty and might of the Indian River and the Intracoastal Waterway, New Smyrna Beach is a beautiful place for outdoor activities including fishing, sailing, motor boating, golfing, hiking, kite surfing, scuba diving and just simply digging your toes in our glorious white sand beaches while you find your chi. This unique beach town offers a warm, friendly atmosphere beyond compare, so we also enjoy a bunch of incredible social activities (when we’re not interrupted by Covid-19), like parades by land and sea, classic car shows and motorcycle rallies of epic proportion!
A famous surf town with its own surf museum, New Smyrna possesses a charm all its own, complete with an old fashioned creamery, delightful seaside shopping and waterfront eateries. New Smyrna Beach residents and visitors also enjoy some of the most beautiful weather in the world, with mild, mostly dry winters.
Brimming with live music, theatrical performances and a thriving art community, New Smyrna Beach is alive with culture. Atlantic Center for the Arts is an artist-in-residence community and educational facility within New Smyrna Beach. Plus, we are home to the Gallery of Fine Arts on Douglas, The Little Theatre and scads of impressive art shows throughout the year. In fact, New Smyrna Beach has been named “One of America’s Top Small Cities for the Arts.”
Don’t forget our contribution to this country’s history. Long ago Seminole territory, New Smyrna Beach was home to Henry Flagler’s innovative railway system in the 1800s, served as a handy hideout for rum runners during prohibition and is well-known as the birthplace of car racing.
And if that weren’t enough, it’s the perfect location – convenient to the iconic Daytona International Speedway, historic and beautiful St. Augustine, Cape Canaveral (an out of this world place to visit) and the world’s most popular theme parks.
