There are exciting events and adventures to be had all around New Smyrna Beach throughout the year; and this summer (ish) looks particularly interesting as it relates to New Smyrna and the surrounding area’s host of treasured annual rituals, as well as innovative crowd pleasers.
A laser light show in celebration of Memorial Day kicks things off and brightens things up on May 27th from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Hawks Park in Edgewater. Bring a blanket or a chair!
Then there is “Paths of Glory,” the first of this summer’s monthly art in film presentations hosted by The Hub on Canal in New Smyrna Beach, which occurs June 16th from 6:45 to 10 p.m.
June 17th from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. is when Ponce Inlet Lighthouse holds its Flag Day celebration. Family oriented mariner flag workshops and kids’ crafts are included in the price of admission.
Ranked one of the nation’s top fine arts festivals in 2022, the Festival of the Arts is scheduled for June 27-29 in 2023 on Riverside Drive in New Smyrna Beach.
Don’t miss the July 4th Red White & Blue Music Festival or the annual fireworks with live music and food trucks at the Riverside Park Gazebo, both sure to bring in the holiday with a bang!
There’s also a free Summer Concert Series at Riverside Park in New Smyrna Beach every Thursday for all of July and August.
And don’t forget the New Smyrna Beach Shrimp & Seafood Festival on Flagler Avenue in August, which promises live entertainment and plenty of tasting opportunities as well as a contest between Volusia’s best restaurants!
September 3rd is Stargazing and Night Kayaking along the Canaveral Seashore National Park 9-11 p.m., starting at River Breeze in Oak Hill.
Then, later in September, you can work your way through the cool vibes and sounds created by solo crooners, jazz trios, sax quartets and large ensembles from the Indian River to the Atlantic during the New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival!
