This year is a special year for the New Smyrna Beach Museum of History, as New Smyrna Beach celebrates 250 years. New Smyrna Beach is a little town full of beachside splendor and a rich, colorful history. It is one of Florida’s oldest and most charming cities, and New Smyrna Beach Museum of History is the keeper of its past…steadfastly preserving and presenting the unique heritage of New Smyrna Beach.
Hosting NSB is proud to welcome the New Smyrna Beach Museum of History to its impressive roster. We have been serving the internet marketing and website development needs of New Smyrna Beach for over 15 years, and plan to provide the same stellar service to the New Smyrna Beach Museum of History.
If you haven’t yet visited the museum, this is certainly the year to do it! There is a special “Stroll through History” event June 16th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with live historical portrayals, Seminole Indian dancers, an archaeological dig for kids, bus tours to historic sites and so much more! The museum itself is bursting with exquisite historic collections, including Native American Artifacts, Civil War displays, railroad memorabilia, fishing and hunting displays, displays of local archaeological digs and discoveries, special temporary exhibits, as well as a museum store.
Operated by the Southeast Volusia Historical Society, this exceptional not-for-profit was established in 1982. It is located at 120 Sams Avenue in the historic Canal Street district, nestled amidst an eclectic mix of restaurants and shops. Stroll through at your leisure any time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; or book a ride on the 40-passenger Discovery for an NSB historic boat tour. There are also historic walking tours on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays – weather permitting.
